What We Do (何をしてる？）

Wear Now is a platform selling art made from traditional Japanese fabric scraps. (Wear Nowは日本の伝統的な記事の未使用の切れ端の再利用をベースとしたショップであり、切れ端を用いて作られた作品を売っています。）

Aim（目標）

We aim for a fully sustainable, no-waste industry for Traditional Japanese fabric. (日本の織物産業に廃棄を無くし、完璧なサステイナブルな産業にすることを目標としてます）

Why（なぜ？）

Close to 500 kilograms of traditional Japanese fabric is discarded every year. This may feel small. Another way to look at this is that a standard roll has 12m. To make any Kimono, there would be at least 50cm of leftover fabric. If you think, that for every kimono, 50cm of handmade culture is lost, it accumulates and should feel like a lot. Treating the scraped beautiful fabrics as resources and using techniques like patchwork gives the fabric a new life and reduces waste. We hope this helps the sustainability of resources and culture passed down for generations.

(毎年５００キロほどの織物が廃棄されています。例えば着物の場合、１２mで売られている織物を使うと少なくとも５０cmほどの幅が毎回残ってしまう。この５０cmの残りが幾度も続けばとても大きな量ります。この廃棄されていたものを新たな資源として扱い、パッチワークなどの技術を用いて作っることで新たな命を与えています。我々の働きが織物企業の廃棄を止めるだけでなく、伝統をより共有でき、サステイナブルな企業が作れると願っています。）
